Origin

Born at the IE Outdoors Club

OCMT — Outdoors Club Mountaineering Team — grew out of the IE Outdoors Club, a community of more than 1,800 members at IE University. What began as informal weekend trips into the Sierra de Guadarrama turned into a structured mountaineering program with real certification behind it.

Today OCMT runs across two countries: Spain, where most of the community is based and trained, and Mexico, where the club's summer expedition series takes members to some of the highest volcanic peaks in North America.

How we operate

The three commitments behind every trip

01

Education

Every technical trip is led under EMAM, a mountaineering school recognized by the Federación Madrileña de Montañismo. No one summits without the training to get there safely.

02

Sustainability

Small group sizes, leave-no-trace practice, and routes chosen with respect for the mountain — not just for the summit photo.

03

Respect

The mountain sets the terms. Weather, altitude and the group's readiness decide the itinerary — the summit is a possibility, never a promise.
