OCMT exists because a group of students at IE University refused to choose between studying and climbing. What started as a club became a community that spans two countries.
Origin
Born at the IE Outdoors Club
OCMT — Outdoors Club Mountaineering Team — grew out of the IE Outdoors Club, a community of more than 1,800 members at IE University. What began as informal weekend trips into the Sierra de Guadarrama turned into a structured mountaineering program with real certification behind it.
Today OCMT runs across two countries: Spain, where most of the community is based and trained, and Mexico, where the club's summer expedition series takes members to some of the highest volcanic peaks in North America.
